Stop Pop-Up Ads on Android

Stop Pop-Up Ads on Android video.

Hi Guys welcome to 123myIT! In this video & article we will show you how to Stop Pop-Up Ads on your Android device. Helpful if you are getting Ads when browsing the internet.

Stop Pop-Up Ads.

Ok guys so you have been browsing the web on your Android device and suddenly for no reason you are getting Pop-up Ads. Now I have turned on some of the Ads features on my Android phone and these are some of the Ads that started appearing.

Gas Bottle Android Ad Pop-Up

Gas bottles, Private offices for hire and Tarot Reading are the Ads that came up and this are not relevant to me at all. Something that is really annoying about these ads is, that I don’t need any of the stuff that comes up on the Ad.

Step 1 – Remove google ads on phone and browser.

Depending on which browser you use on your Android device it might be different. However I will show you the few options on the different Android devices I use. So go into the browser you use and into the settings of that browser.

Oppo phone default browser: Block ads – you can turn this off and on. In the video you can see here that it has already blocked so many ads.
Scroll down to Block pop-ups.
Go into Clear browsing data and you will see three different options. Clear saved passwords > Clear browsing history > Clear cookies and data.

I would clear the bottom two but you can clear all just be aware that it will forget all your passwords.

Stop Pop-Up Ads – Chrome Browser

If you use the Chrome browser go to the three dots and settings. Scroll down to Site settings > Pop-ups and redirects menu.
Also you can go into the Ads menu and change that.
If you then go back out and go into Privacy, scroll to the bottom and press Clear Browsing Data. Advanced, and you will have the options of what you want to clear for the Chrome browser as well.

Next go into the Settings menu on your Android device. Go down to your Google account.
Press on Ads, you can then tap the opt out of Ads Personalisation. And next press on Ads by Google.
This launches a FAQ on Google Ads. If you want to know more about them have a read through. However what we are after is if you want to scroll to where it says Google and advertising standards. So find your country and opt out. Here is the link if you need it. https://support.google.com/ads/answer/1660762?hl=en

Now once you have done this I would suggest restarting your Android device and testing it for a while. If it is the Google Ads then they should stop coming through. If you are still getting pop-ups then try the next steps.

Step 2 – Remove recently installed Apps.

It might be a recently installed app doing the pop-ups, so remove any recently installed apps one by one and test. Go into Settings > App Management, find the app you are after and press it. Then tap uninstall. Do a restart of the phone and test it again. If you are still getting popups then go to the next step.

Step 3 – Install Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes is a program that can Identify and remove malware from your Android device. Go to the play.google.com site and download install it.
Run the software update and scan your android device. Remove any Malware found and restart your Android device and test for popups. For more info on what Malware is go to WIKI here.

Step 4 – Backup Data and Reset Phone

If you go into Settings > Additional Settings and scroll down to Backup and Reset. Under that you can press Backup my data and then Backup my data now. Make sure that your data is backed up before you go to the next step.
Next Factory data reset > Erase all content and settings. This should hopefully be the last resort if you cant get rid of the ads.

This video and article will show you how to transfer data, such as clips, messages and contacts from your iPhone to Android device.

Getting a new phone is great. But there is always the problem of moving your data from your old phone to your new one. I have done a few transfer videos before however this changes year on year depending which model phone you have. So this is the 2019 version which will hopefully make it an easy process.

Step 1 – Back up your iPhone to icloud

The first step is to backup your data to iCloud. You can do this by going into Settings and at the top sign into iCloud with your Apple ID. You want to make a backup of your data before you move to the next step. Also now is a good time to get rid of any data you don’t want moved over to your Android phone. In your iCloud account setting go through and toggle off anything you don’t want. Lastly go onto the iCloud.com website and check your data has been backed up. Very Important!

Using iCloud to backup your data before moving it to Android.

step 2 – use smart switch app to download data from icloud to your android device.

If you don’t have smart switch on your phone already you can pick up this app from play.google.com. Direct link here. Go through the options. Bring data to your new phone. Next select the WIFI option and make sure both phones are on your WIFI.

You can also use a cable if you prefer. An option should now come up asking you to Get Connected. Choose the device you want however in this video we choose iPhone/iPad. Next put in your Apple ID. Select the data that you want to download from iCloud. Simply press Import and you are done.

How to make your Phone Number private on Samsung

This video & article will show you How to make your Phone Number private on a Samsung phone. The phone used In this video is the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

Every now and then you will need to make phone calls from your phone where you don’t want the person you are calling to know the number you are calling from. I made this video for privacy reasons if you wish to hide your number you can follow this guide. Just be aware some people might think your hidden number is a sales call so they might not answer when you want them too.

So what happens when you setup your phone and make a call what does the other person see?

On a Samsung phone it should look something like the picture below.
phone number private

On a iPhone is should look something like the picture below.

So to do this go to your phone icon and you will have 3 little dots in the top right hand corner. Tap on those 3 dots and then tap on Settings.
Scroll down to where it says more settings. Next you should have show my caller ID, tap on that. Simply select Hide number.
Any outgoing calls that you make should be hidden from the person you are calling.

The next thing you need to do is to test your hidden number before you call out with the phone. The last thing you want to do is not turn on the Phone Number private and give away your number. Test it to a friends phone or a family member and you should be good to go.

Transfer data from Android to Oppo

Transfer data from Android to Oppo

In this video I show you how to transfer all of the following data from Android to Oppo mobile phone.
As soon as you get a new phone you will need to copy across Videos, Music, Pictures, Documents. It can be tricky moving data from Android to Oppo mobile phone because the phones are made by different companies.
To start this process you will need to go into the Tools menu on the Oppo phone and go to backup and restore. Next you will need to press update. This then creates the tool called Clone Phone. This is the tool we will use to move the data between the two phones.

Clone phone will then have two options.
New phone or Old phone.

Android to Oppo

Next you will need to download the Clone phone app on your Samsung or Android phone if it is not on there by default. To do this you can use this link.
http://i.clonephone.coloros.com/download
Put the link above in your phones web browser and download it. Once you have downloaded the app go into your setting and allow it to work on your Android phone. It will need permissions to do this.
Once the Clone phone app is allowed and installed open it up. Press start cloning. It should come up with a QR reader. Scan the barcode of your Oppo phone.
It should say connecting and then the two phones should connect.
If you have issues connecting the two phones make sure you turn off security features like passcode or screen lock.
Press the Start Cloning button to start moving all your data across.

Pretty straight forward not much more to know. Its complicated if you don’t know how to do this so I hope my video will really help.
Apps and their data, Contacts, Messages and call logs should also copy across with this process.

OPPO R11s Unboxing & Firstlook

OPPO R11s Unboxing & Firstlook

This video & article will show you the OPPO R11s Unboxing & firstlook. If you are looking to buy a cell phone this is a great place to start. The OPPO R11s is the latest phone to come from the Chinese manufacturer OPPO. After going over the specs of the OPPO phone it seems to be about as good as the older Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. However the OPPO R11s doesn’t have the capability’s to do 3D like the Samsung can with the Samsung Gear. If you are not bothered with the 3D side of things and are after the latest model of phone then the OPPO is for you. However for $100 less you can get a Samsung Galaxy S7 with more function. So its hard to make a concrete decision here.
Will you notice the little if any difference in speed between the two devices. If you are using an iPhone or Samsung Phone and you are looking to switch to an OPPO make sure you take a look at the phone first. The OPPO has its own look and feel that are different from the other phones on the market and you might decided that you simply can’t handle the change.

Otherwise value for money the OPPO is a good phone if you don’t want to spend $1000 to $1400s on a phone.

OPPO R11s Phone

If you can get past things like the mining USB charging port being backwards and having to press the side button to get into the phone then the OPPO R11s is definitely worth a look. Would I go as far as to reocmmened this phone to my friend or family over the Samsung or iPhone models? Maybe not. But at least there is new fresh competition with these devices around. Maybe Apple and other manufactures need to take their existing phone line ups to the next level and start innovating again.
