Step by step guild on Backing up your Samsung device.

In this video and article we will show you how to do a backup and restore of your Samsung device to PC.

Have you ever thought about what might happen to your pictures and videos on your Samsung device if you lose or break it? You don’t need to take the risk you can do a backup and restore with the following steps. Also if you are getting pop up ads on your device and want to clean it these steps will help. To do the backup we are going to use an application called smart switch. You can find the direct link to the Smart Switch website here.

That will take you to the Samsung US website. And you can download Smart Switch for Mobile, Mac and Windows.

Once its downloaded install the Smart Switch app. You will need to agree to the terms and conditions. Plug your Samsung USB into your computer. Tap Allow access on your Samsung Device.

Must have iPhone & Android Accessories

Hi Guys Matt here in this video I will show you what I think are the must have iPhone Smart phone accessories.

Must have iPhone accessories.
iPhone being dropped from a car at 60 MPH. With Element Roll Cage Case.

In the picture above the driver is dropping an iPhone out of a car that is traveling at 65 Mph. Element Case make a case called Roll Cage because it has a protective cage on the back. The case that we use is the one in the video which is made for the iPhone 8 and 7. Element Case also make it for the iPhone X and XS. But the beauty of this case is, you can remove the cage from the back of the case and place it on the front to protect your iPhone.

Other features – Must have iPhone & Android Accessories

– Fast Tap side buttons
– Meets Military grade drop test requirements

Best way to use the Roll cage case?

How could this case be helpful? I think if you were doing some heavy duty work or demanding sports like Skiing or skateboarding you could put the roll cage on your iPhone before hand that would protect your phone from any damage.

The second Element Case is called Rally, it has also been drop tested at 65 mph.
The Rally case fits the Samsung s10e. However they also make it for the Samsung Galaxy 10 and 10 plus as well as the iPhone X and Xs. The features for the rally are the same except its got Table Top protection and Sure Grip.

To fit your Samsung phone into the case just slide it in bottom first and snap the sides into place. The other great thing about the Rally case is it allows wireless charging. So just pop it on a wireless charger and you are good to go. The Roll Cage case also charges on wireless charger as well. But you have to make sure the Cage is on the front of the phone.

Wireless chargers

While we are talking about chargers, the next must have is accessory is a wireless charger. And Tech Matte do a great standup and lay flat wireless chargers. Tech Matte design their wireless chargers in the US.

The standup change has a cool L shape. However if you prefer your phone to be laying down Tech Matte also do a flat fast wireless charger. Inside the box you get a fast wireless charging pad which allows your phone to lay flat rather than standing up.
A bed side table or coffee stand might be a better place for the Tech Matte wireless charging pad. Where as the upright charging stand might be better suited for a study or work place office.
the pad has a really nice felt type material on top which makes for a soft landing for your phone. This wireless charging pad comes with the a USB C cable

One of the great things about wireless chargers is they will work on both an iphone and an Andoird phone.
This means that you no longer need two different phone chargers to charge different phones you can use the one wireless charger and it will work on multiple phones.

Stop Pop-Up Ads on Android

Stop Pop-Up Ads on Android video.

Hi Guys welcome to 123myIT! In this video & article we will show you how to Stop Pop-Up Ads on your Android device. Helpful if you are getting Ads when browsing the internet.

Stop Pop-Up Ads.

Ok guys so you have been browsing the web on your Android device and suddenly for no reason you are getting Pop-up Ads. Now I have turned on some of the Ads features on my Android phone and these are some of the Ads that started appearing.

Stop Pop-Up Ads on Android
Gas Bottle Android Ad Pop-Up

Gas bottles, Private offices for hire and Tarot Reading are the Ads that came up and this are not relevant to me at all. Something that is really annoying about these ads is, that I don’t need any of the stuff that comes up on the Ad.

Step 1 – Remove google ads on phone and browser.

Depending on which browser you use on your Android device it might be different. However I will show you the few options on the different Android devices I use. So go into the browser you use and into the settings of that browser.

Oppo phone default browser: Block ads – you can turn this off and on. In the video you can see here that it has already blocked so many ads.
Scroll down to Block pop-ups.
Go into Clear browsing data and you will see three different options. Clear saved passwords > Clear browsing history > Clear cookies and data.

I would clear the bottom two but you can clear all just be aware that it will forget all your passwords.

Stop Pop-Up Ads – Chrome Browser

If you use the Chrome browser go to the three dots and settings. Scroll down to Site settings > Pop-ups and redirects menu.
Also you can go into the Ads menu and change that.
If you then go back out and go into Privacy, scroll to the bottom and press Clear Browsing Data. Advanced, and you will have the options of what you want to clear for the Chrome browser as well.

Next go into the Settings menu on your Android device. Go down to your Google account.
Press on Ads, you can then tap the opt out of Ads Personalisation. And next press on Ads by Google.
This launches a FAQ on Google Ads. If you want to know more about them have a read through. However what we are after is if you want to scroll to where it says Google and advertising standards. So find your country and opt out. Here is the link if you need it. https://support.google.com/ads/answer/1660762?hl=en

Now once you have done this I would suggest restarting your Android device and testing it for a while. If it is the Google Ads then they should stop coming through. If you are still getting pop-ups then try the next steps.

Step 2 – Remove recently installed Apps.

It might be a recently installed app doing the pop-ups, so remove any recently installed apps one by one and test. Go into Settings > App Management, find the app you are after and press it. Then tap uninstall. Do a restart of the phone and test it again. If you are still getting popups then go to the next step.

Step 3 – Install Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes is a program that can Identify and remove malware from your Android device. Go to the play.google.com site and download install it.
Run the software update and scan your android device. Remove any Malware found and restart your Android device and test for popups. For more info on what Malware is go to WIKI here.

Step 4 – Backup Data and Reset Phone

If you go into Settings > Additional Settings and scroll down to Backup and Reset. Under that you can press Backup my data and then Backup my data now. Make sure that your data is backed up before you go to the next step.
Next Factory data reset > Erase all content and settings. This should hopefully be the last resort if you cant get rid of the ads.

iPhone to android 2019

This video and article will show you how to transfer data, such as clips, messages and contacts from your iPhone to Android device.

Getting a new phone is great. But there is always the problem of moving your data from your old phone to your new one. I have done a few transfer videos before however this changes year on year depending which model phone you have. So this is the 2019 version which will hopefully make it an easy process.

Step 1 – Back up your iPhone to icloud

The first step is to backup your data to iCloud. You can do this by going into Settings and at the top sign into iCloud with your Apple ID. You want to make a backup of your data before you move to the next step. Also now is a good time to get rid of any data you don’t want moved over to your Android phone. In your iCloud account setting go through and toggle off anything you don’t want. Lastly go onto the iCloud.com website and check your data has been backed up. Very Important!

Using iCloud to backup your data before moving it to Android.

step 2 – use smart switch app to download data from icloud to your android device.

If you don’t have smart switch on your phone already you can pick up this app from play.google.com. Direct link here. Go through the options. Bring data to your new phone. Next select the WIFI option and make sure both phones are on your WIFI.

You can also use a cable if you prefer. An option should now come up asking you to Get Connected. Choose the device you want however in this video we choose iPhone/iPad. Next put in your Apple ID. Select the data that you want to download from iCloud. Simply press Import and you are done.

Oppo to Samsung data transfer

Connect your two phones

In this video and article we will show you how to transfer data Oppo to Samsung. This will transfer content, such as music, clips, photos, messages and contacts from Oppo to Samsung S10. We do this by using the WIFI and USB connector along with the Samsung Smart Switch software.
The hardware in this video is the Oppo R11 and Samsung Galaxy s10e.

This method works without moving your Sim card. So it will make a backup of all your data on your phone. So grab your USB connector adapter, it should have come with your Samsung device and then plug it into your USB cable. Plug both ends of this cable into your Oppo and Samsung. Next on your Samsung phone the Smart Switch software should pop up automatically and if you just tap ok on the menu. So the next step is to select new or old phone.

You will need to turn on file transfer mode on the old phone. In this case Oppo phone. So swipe down from the top of your Oppo phone and select charging via USB. And then tap on the photo transfer option. It will say open Smart Switch on your old device. So go to the Play.Google.com site and download a copy if you don’t already have it.

Transfer data Oppo to Samsung – Choose what data you want

The phone should then ask you to choose what data you want to move across from phone to phone. Simply choose the data you want to transfer and the Transfer button.

NOTCH REMOVED – Samsung Galaxy s10e

In this article we will show you the Samsung Galaxy s10e unboxing and firstlook. The first thing you will notice about Samsung’s s10 models is the annoying notch at the top of the phone is now gone. The display is called the infinity o display and the removal of the notch can make for a more cinematic experience.

Samsung Galaxy s10e notch
Notch removed!

ULTRASONIC FINGERPRINT SENSOR

On the S10 and the S10 plus you get the use of a hidden biometric sensor. You can use this sensor by pressing the display and it will automatically unlock your phone. Samsung is the first company to use this technology. However it was Qualcomm’s ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint technology. The S10e which features in our video only has capacitive fingerprint sensor on the side of the phone.

REDUCTION IN BLUE LIGHT

Samsung say that they have reduced the blue light amount on these phones by as much as 42-percent. And this is without having to change the colour of the display. This is really good news for your eyes which might be another good reason to upgrade.

COLOURS

The s10 range comes in quite a few different colours depending on which model you buy. But do you really need to choose a colour when you will probably cover the phone with a protective phone case anyway? Also depending on your country you should be able to get the following colours. Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Blue, Flamingo Pink, Prism Green. For the S10 Plus premium price phone you will have the extra options of Ceramic White and Ceramic Black. These day I think you can easily get away with a black or white model and then choose a nice colour case to go with it.

When choosing which model you want also you will have different capacity options. Starting from 128gb to 1 TB.

For me personally the I like this phone because of the blue light reduction. Its a great selling point knowing that the phone might be healthier on my eyes.

$20 Strip Light vs $200 Strip Light – Philips Hue

This video and article will compare a $20 Strip Light vs $200 Strip Light.
The two Strip Lights I am going to compare today are the Philips Hue, which needs a network bridge and a generic $20 Strip Light. The later you can get off Amazon or eBay.
So the starting price for the generic strip lighting is $20 and the Philips Hue range will be around $200. This will depend on which country you are from.
If we take a look at the $20 strip light first. The box contains the RGB Control Box. This control box allows us to power the strip lighting and it also allows us to use the infrared remote control to change the colour of the LED strip.

The remote control is a nice feature as it allows you to start using the strip light straight away without the need to download an app on your phone. What if you don’t have a phone? 🙂 However on the Philips Hue range you need to have a phone and a phone app to be able to customise the lighting.

Depending on your lighting needs this can be a hassle. I know personally it was much easier for me to pick up a remote press two buttons for my background video lighting. But for the Philips Hue I would have to pick up my phone open my phone press on the app.

The other big issue I found was that the Philips Hue app didn’t have allot of functionality and rather to get great app features you would have to pay a 3rd party fee for a better app with more functions. Personally I found this annoying for what I needed the strip light to do. But if you have a big light show production with many lights I can see how having 1 phone with an app would be very handy comparing it to maybe five or 10 different remotes.

Another benefit of the Philips Hue range over the Generic range is the quality. The Philips strip come wrapped in protective plastic and would be less likely to brake. Where as the generic brand doesn’t have this protective cover and could break.

Light Strip
Light Strips side by side with the Philips phone app and Generic remote control.

Lastly the quality of the colour thrown out by the Philips brand is much brighter and I have been told it throws out a True colour.
