Samsung Galaxy S6 Unboxing & Firstlook

This video will show you the Samsung Galaxy S6 Unboxing & Firstlook.

I had the chance to get my hands on the Samsung Galaxy S6 for an Unboxing and first look. I upgraded my old phone from the Samsung S5 to the Samsung S6 Edge recently and you can check out that video here.

However I think I actually preferred the Samsung S6 over the Samsung S6 edge and the reason was yes you guessed it the edges. I find the Samsung S6 more easier to hold over the Samsung S6 edge and I seem to bump the screen allot more because of the edges and the screen doesn’t feel very accurate. To sum it up I found the edge a bit frustrating to use. However the S6 does have the fancy edges so holding the device is a breeze.

Samsung Galaxy S6 & Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

On paper the hardware of Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge are exactly the same. So speed wise there isn’t that much difference if any between the two phones. But if you check out the video above you will see the Geekbench score the Samsung Galaxy Edge was slightly faster with a single core score of 1499 over the Samsung Galaxy S6, which had a score of 1441. And on the Multi core score the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge reached a whooping 5281 over the Samsung Galaxy S6 at 4769.
Maybe if we ran the tests a few more times these scores would change even though the hardware is the same the Edge did seem to perform better. But does that really matter when making phone calls or sending texts messages? maybe not. But it might when you are playing video or games with the phone.

With this my personal view is that I am kind of disappointed with the latest Samsung Galaxy S6 models. Everything I liked about the Samsung Galaxy S5 is gone. Its like they are trying to hard to compete with Apple they forget what makes people choose Samsung over Apple. And lets face it, who at the moment can really compete with Apple? 🙂

Transfer data from old phone to new phone Android

This video will show you how to Transfer data from old phone to new phone Android.

Hi All, recently I upgraded my Android phone from the Samsung Galaxy S5 to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and I am slowly working through a few issues that I found when setting up the new phone.
One of those issues was a problem with Gmail contacts getting mixed up with my person phone contacts. Find that video here. Delete Gmail contacts from Android.

So how do you Transfer data from old phone to new phone on Android? Well in this video I use an application called Samsung Smart Switch, which is an app that is available on the Google Play website. It allows you to Transfer data from your old phone to your new phone without the need to plug into another computer.
And it also supports moving from IOS to Android and Android to IOS.

Samsung Smart Switch App

The process is pretty straight forward, simply download the Samsung Smart Switch app on both the old device and the new device. Start the Samsung Smart Switch app up on both devices and select the type of OS, so either IOS for Apple Devices devices or Android for Android devices. and then tap the Start button.

Next you will need to set the old device to sending and the new device to Receiving. The two phones should hopefully see each other by now and automatically connect to one another.
Select the data that you want to move from your old phone to your new phone by leaving the check boxes ticked. If there is any data that you don’t want to copy to your new phone, simply remove the tick from the checkbox.

Once done you should be good to go. Just remember that the time it takes to copy data across depends on the speed of your phones and how much data you wish to transfer. For me it was about 4GB and that would take around 40 mins.

I hope this helps out.
Good luck
Matt

Delete Gmail contacts from Android

This video will show you how to Delete Gmail contacts from Android phone.

Hi All,
Recently I was able to get my hands on Samsung’s latest model of Galaxy phone the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and after wanting to take some pictures with it to post up on 123myIT Instagram I went to the Google Play store to download the Instagram App. Sounds pretty straight forward right ?
Well some where along the line I entered the 123myIT Google play login details and Gmail decided that I also needed that Gmail account setup on my phone. Maybe I clicked accept to something I shouldn’t have? However I found this very intrusive because not only did it install an unwanted Gmail account, it also installed also installed all my 123myIT Gmail contacts into my phone contacts. Very Annoying, because I have over 80 contacts who, I don’t need to contact via my mobile phone.

84 Gmail Contacts

The big question is, how do I delete Gmail contacts from Android? Well the easy option is to go into Settings > Accounts section on the phone and delete the Gmail account. This will remove both the Gmail email and contacts from your phone. But what if you want to keep the Gmail account but not be burdened with all the Gmail contacts?

Well you can turn off the contacts Sync, by going into the Settings > Accounts go into the Google account tap on your Google account and you will have the follow toggle switches below.

Gmail Settings Android
Once you turn off the contacts sync, you can then go back into your contact and delete the contacts one by one.

If you have 1000 contacts, then this is usually not an option for you. If this is the case you will need to remove the Gmail account altogether and start from the beginning. In the video above I will show you how to add the Gmail account without Syncing the Gmail contacts by making use of the fight mode setting.

I hope this delete Gmail contacts guide was helpful for some. I found this quite frustrating as I am sure there are others out there with the same issue.

Thanks for watching

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge vs S5 Unboxing & Comparison

This video will show you the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge vs S5 Unboxing & Comparison.

Hi All,
A new video up on Samsung’s latest gadget the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. While apart from the unboxing video I have not had much play time with the Edge as it takes a smaller Nano sim card which I have to get from my
Australian service provider “IINET” before I can switch over to the new phone. Once this is done I will put up another video about the software tweaks that the Edge has. So stay tuned.

When talking about the camera on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge vs the S5, the S6 lens is faster allowing better low light photos then the S5. I got out and about to take some photos with both phones for compassion.

The photos below are straight from the device they have not been edited in any way.

Once the sim card has been activated on the new Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge, I will be able to do a video on how to move all your data across from Samsung to Samsung device as well as a few videos on likes and dislikes between the two models of phone. Right off the bat things I like about the Edge would be that it looks cool and the camera is better. However some features I really liked about the old Samsung would be that its waterproof you can change the batter it has an extra storage slot.

The pros and cons. 🙂

Add a Ringtone Samsung Galaxy S5 Game of Thrones

This video will show you how to Add a Ringtone on the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Hi All
This is an update for the Samsung Galaxy fans out there. Sometime ago I wanted to create my own ringtones for my Galaxy, iPhone, because I was sick of the really bad default ringtones that come with the Galaxy and iPhone models.

The idea is that if you like some content from YouTube be it a song a or some type of sound you can actually make it into a ringtone for your phone.
I have gone a head and created to Game of Thrones ringtones for both the Samsung Galaxy S5 and iPhone. You can find them on the 123myIT.com Downloads page here.
https://www.123myit.com/downloads/
Under the heading Free Ringtones. If you want to know more about how to create your own ringtones you can find the old 123myIT.com video how to here.
How to Extract Audio from Video with VLC – Game of Thrones Ringtone
How to add a Ringtone to an Android Phone – Game of Thrones Ringtone

Once you have created your ringtone of choice you can add it to your Samsung device by following the video above. Essentially you plug your Samsung into your computer and once the phone is detected you can copy the ringtone into any folder on your phone. Once this is done you might get the following message.
Convert and Copy

Do you want to convert your file before its copied to your device? In most cases you want to say yes to this. This is so the file will be compatible with your device. In this case the Samsung Galaxy S5.
Once the file is copied to your phone you will need to add it to your ringtones. To do this on your Samsung device tap on Settings > Sound > Ringtones and then tap Add > Folders and navigate to the locations of where you saved your file and your good to go.
